Sangeeta Khan is an entrepreneur. A story of perseverance, dedication, and empowerment as Mrs. Sangeeta Khan overcomes societal norms and builds successful businesses while inspiring the next generation of women entrepreneurs.

In today’s society, where women are striving to make a name for themselves, it can be difficult to navigate through the patriarchal norms that often impede our progress. However, when we find inspiring women who have created a path for generations to come, it can serve as a source of motivation and inspiration. One such woman who has broken through societal barriers is Ms. Sangeeta Khan, the Managing Partner of Divine Beauty Lounge.

Ms. Khan’s journey began during her college years, where she got married and started building her family. Despite this, she remained dedicated to her personal growth and pursued a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Public Administration at the University of Dhaka. Her determination and hard work paid off, and she completed her degree in 1984 while also raising her first-born child.

Ms. Khan faced another challenge when she moved to Thailand with her spouse, who was pursuing a Master of Engineering degree at the Asian Institute of Technology. As a mother of two living in a foreign country with limited resources, she did not let these obstacles stop her. Instead, she started teaching Bangla to the children of Bangladeshi officials working at ESCAP, ILO, and the Embassy.

Upon returning to Bangladesh, Ms. Khan continued her education and obtained a Masters of Social Science degree in Public Administration from Dhaka University in 1989. She then embarked on a successful career with Singapore Airlines, where she worked for nearly two decades. However, Ms. Khan’s entrepreneurial spirit and desire for personal growth led her to step into the restaurant business in 2005, becoming a partner of Time Out, a popular eatery in the city.

Ms. Khan’s commitment to giving her all to whatever she does is evident in her success as a businesswoman. She gave up her social life to devote her time to her day job, family, and restaurant business. She eventually resigned from Singapore Airlines and joined Regency Travels as a director, where she learned the other side of the trade. Her dedication to empowering young women interested in setting up their businesses led her to become a member of Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BWCCI).

In 2014, Ms. Khan entered the beauty industry, turning her passion for make-up into a successful business venture. She co-founded Divine Beauty Lounge with her partner Bapon Rahman, and it quickly became one of the country’s most popular and sought-after makeovers and lifestyle brands.

Ms. Khan’s story serves as a reminder that with hard work, perseverance, and support from loved ones, we can break through societal barriers and achieve our dreams. Her commitment to empowering young women and paving the way for future generations is an inspiration to us all.
