Birth 

SRK was born on 2nd November, 1965, in New Delhi, India. 

Family

King Khan’s father, Meer Taj Muhammed Khan, was an Indian Independence activist from Peshwar. On the other hand, his mother, Lateef Fatima, was the daughter of a senior government engineer. The king of romance married Gauri Chibber, a renowned film producer, interior designer, costume designer and a devoted social worker. The ravishing couple has one daughter (Suhana Khan) and two sons (Aryan and Abram). 

Education

Not only is he only a top-notch actor, but also, he is adept at sports. This legend attended St. Columbia’s school in Central Delhi, where he shined in his studies and sports, including football and hockey. Khan then got admitted to Hansraj College to obtain his bachelor’s degree in Economics. Later, he began studying for a master’s degree in mass communication Jamia Millia Islamia. 

Life history

Shah Rukh Khan grew up in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of New Delhi. His father had several businesses, including a restaurant. This legend belonged to a middle-class family. He always desired to be a sportsman but, unfortunately, could not fulfill this wish due to his shoulder injury. In his early life, he was engaged in various stage plays and gained much kudos for his imitations of the prominent stars of Bollywood. He also attended the National School of Drama in Delhi. His father died in 1981 due to cancer. 

On the other hand, his mother died in 1991 because of complications of her diabetes. Later, his sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, went into depression, and Shah Rukh had to shoulder his beloved sister’s responsibility. His parents’ demise brought in the ordeals in his life. 

King Khan decided to pursue his career in the film industry in 1991 since he wanted to escape from the agony of his mother’s death. He moved from Delhi to Mumbai and quickly got offers of four movies. His film debut was in Deewana, released in June 1992. Deewana became a box office hit and Shah Rukh won the Filmfare Best Male Debut. Other notable movies were Chamatkar and Dil Aashna Hain. He was seen as a very vehement character in those films. In 1993, the Bollywood blockbusters Bazigaar and Daar were released. King Khan received his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor for Bazigaar. 

1995 was a wonderful year for the legend as he starred in seven films that year including Karan Arjun and Dilwale Dulhaniya Lein Jayenge. DDLJ won the hearts of all and is still watched by many today. Lauded by the public, DDLJ was declared an “All time Blockbuster” movie by Box Office India and is the longest-running film in the history of Indian cinema. In 1997, Dil toh pagal hain was released, which received various accolades that included Mr. Khan’s third Filmfare for the Best Actor Award. 

In 2001, Shah Rukh gifted the Bollywood industry with another blessing, “Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham” that remained the top-grossing Indian production of all time in the overseas market for five years. 

In 2002, Devdas was released, which was the most expensive movie ever made at that time. It received 10 Filmfare Awards along with the Best Male Actor for Shah Rukh.

In 2004, he transmuted Dreamz Unlimited into Red Chillies Entertainment, adding his wife Gauri Khan as a producer. In the company’s first production, the film Main Hoon Na was released under Farah Khan’s direction.

In 2007, he portrayed himself as the women’s hockey team’s coach in the movie “Chaak De India.”

The list of Shah Rukh’s gifts to the Bollywood industry is never-ending. Other fabulous movies of Khan include Om Shanti Om, Rabne Banadi Jodi, My name is Khan, Ra One, Don 2, Jab taak hain jaan, Chennai Express and Happy New Year. 

Besides this, in 2008, Shah Rukh Khan acquired the ownership of Kolkata Knight Riders (in IPL) along with the partnership of Juhi Chawla and her husband for $75.09 million.

Accolades

Indeed, Shah Rukh Khan is a megastar to all of us. He has received a plethora of accolades and myriads of love and recognition. He has received 14 Filmfare Awards. Not only that, he has won the Filmfare Best Actor Award for Baazigaar, Dilwale Dulhaniya Lein Jayege, Dil to pagal hain, Kuch kuch hota hain, Devdas, Swades and My name is Khan.  

Besides this, he was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2005. He was also granted the Odre des Arts et des Lettres and the fifth degree of the French Legion of Honour by the Government of France. Moreover, he has also received five honorary doctorates. Along with the countless accolades this legend has received, he has earned immense and perennial love, affection and unstinting support from his die hard fans. 

Net worth

According to sources, Shah Rukh Khan’s net worth is estimated to be roughly $600 million that makes him one of the richest actors in the world.

The Baadshah of Bollywood has played a tremendously crucial role in order to develop the Bollywood industry and has also rendered a new prestige to the Indian cinema.
