Women in Leadership organized the 3rd Women in Leadership (WIL) Fest from March 8-9, 2021, for International Women’s Day.
IPDC Finance Limited has been awarded as the Most Progressive Organization at the 5th Women Leadership Summit and the 6th Inspiring Women Award 2021 ceremony. The award-giving ceremony and summit were held online last Tuesday and Wednesday. The 6th Inspiring Women Award (IWA) is an essential part of the fest. This award helps identify the women who are the exemplar of the leading and ambitious women working in Bangladesh’s corporate sector. This award also helps to reflect the role models for women in Bangladesh.
IPDC, being awarded, shows pride which is justified as it belongs to the most female-friendly organizations. As per the press statement, IPDC is awarded based on female-friendly policies, support for female employees in their career path, and a congenial work environment.
For the last ten years, the number of female employees has been increasing significantly in IPDC. The management committee of IPDC currently has four female members out of 11 members. Among them are the chief human resource officer, the chief financial officer, the head of IT and business transformation, and the retail business head.
Besides, 121 female employees of the organization are equivalent to 20.8% of the total employees. Additionally, ‘Shushoma,’ a platform explicitly formed for female employees where women can share any type of issues, be it personal or career-related, to the organization’s female leaders.
As per the media statement, IPDC took various steps to address gender diversity, starting from the recruitment process being more inclusive, working flexibility for the women with children, mentorship to raise confidence among new employees.
Mominul Islam, managing director and chief executive officer of IPDC, said, “In IPDC, we have created a culture that embraces diversity to overcome gender equality at work.” He further added that gender diversity is not a responsibility of one individual but of every member of the company, who should engage and work on it.
