Banglalink has won the ‘Ookla Speedtest Award’ as the fastest mobile network in the country for the first six months of 2020. The award is given based on authentic results generated from Ookla’s Speedtest app. Ookla Speedtest gives an exact test experience that users trust across many device types available on the market. It has the most accurate view of worldwide network performance and quality.

Banglalink achieved this award by gaining a speed score of 15.09 Mbps with an average download speed of 12.78 Mbps and an average upload speed of 6.73 Mbps.

Banglalink’s average download speed was 12.78 Mbps, while all the operators’ average download speed was 10.29 Mbps. To be more specific, the download speed of Grameenphone, Robi, and Teletalk was 9.96 Mbps, 9.58 Mbps, and 6.39 Mbps respectively. But Grameenphone, the country’s largest mobile phone operator, had the highest upload speed of 7.31 Mbps.

On this excellent result, Upanga Dutta, the Chief Commercial Officer of the company, said, “At Banglalink, we firmly believe that superior internet speed is key to unlocking advanced digital services for our customers. For this reason, enhancing network-quality has always been one of our top priorities. We are immensely proud of being awarded as the fastest mobile network by Ookla.”

“Our endeavours will remain to offer the best user experience to our digitally-empowered customers wherever we provide our services. To mark this great achievement, we have also unveiled a redesigned logo of Banglalink, which stands for our advancement as a digitally-savvy telecom service provider while keeping our Bangladeshi spirit of courage and winning intact,” he added.

Pierre Boutros Obeid, the chief technology officer of Banglalink, said, “We consider this award to be an acknowledgment of the technological advancement we have made over time for providing best-in-class digital services to customers. Thanks to such technological endeavours and a great customer-obsessed team spirit, we have managed to achieve this remarkable milestone.”
