2020 has been a mixed year of closure due to uncertainty and a quick opening to telecom industries’ innovations in Bangladesh. It has certainly been a challenge but also the room to grow in unforeseen circumstances. Advancement and adaptation come hand in hand, and there’s no accurate proof to this fact other than the environment of operation in different industries over the year of 2020.
From an innovative mindset to tackling difficult situations, this year should be a prosperous chapter in the book of purpose-driven functionality for Grameenphone, the telecom leader with the largest number of subscribers and widest network across the country. The reason behind this statement is the ongoing spark behind the news of Grameenphone’s achievement at the “UiPath Automation Excellence Awards 2020” as it was awarded “Excellence in Automation – Bangladesh”. For a distinguished and prestigious telecommunications service provider like Grameenphone, a year-ending recognition of such gravity is an unequivocal marker of the unstoppable pursuit of digital transformation and escalation.
The “UiPath Automation Excellence Award” was initiated last year and came back with its second version this year in association with ‘The Economic Times’, with newer awards as well as a vast number of categories. The motive behind this series of ‘Excellence Awards’ was to inspire potential leaders and organizations of South Asia to rise up to innovation and creativity with the help of automation to solve issues across various sectors: Finance & Accounting Automation, HR & Legal Automation, Marketing & Sales Automation, IT Operations Automation and more along with several South- Asian country based excellence awards. With 14 categories in total, 37 winners were announced in the “UiPath Excellence Automation Awards 2020” for their prevailing business resiliency and determination in creating new milestones through Robotics Process Automation (RPA).
“These awards showcase the most impactful ideas in leveraging automation, and we are grateful to our eminent Jury and all entrants for their participation. The work presented is a testament of the fast-paced automation adoption our region is witnessing.”
- Rajesh Kumar, Vice President – Marketing, India and South Asia, UiPath
From Bangladesh, the only telecom operator which attained this award is Grameenphone. Accompanying Grameenphone, Dhaka Bank also received recognition this year in “Excellence in Automation – Bangladesh”.
Sustaining resiliency through RPA (Robotic Process Automation) in operational processes has brought new dimensions to the vision of the forerunners in Grameenphone. Syed Tanvir Husain, the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of Grameenphone, expressed his thoughts after the disclosure of the winners’ names of “UiPath Automation Excellence Awards 2020”:
“We continuously strive to unleash possibilities through upskilling our employees and subsequently, to serve our customers with constant pioneering innovations.
This early-stage recognition corroborates our continued efforts to stay relevant to our purpose and inspire us to contribute more to the digital Bangladesh journey. I take this opportunity to thank my colleagues with the explorer mindset – who helped us earn this recognition.”
